Delise Andrews

Delise is the 3-5 Mathematics Coordinator for Lincoln Public Schools in Lincoln, Nebraska. During her career, she has worked in both rural and urban districts and has taught mathematics to students at every age from Kindergarten through the 8th grade, undergraduate math methods and math content courses for pre-service teachers, and graduate level courses for teachers of mathematics. Delise is a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching and a Robert Noyce Master Teaching Fellow. She is also an active member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), serving as a past member and chair of the Professional Development Services Committee, member of regional conference committees, chair of the St. Louis annual conference committee, NCTM Professional Services facilitator, and Associate Editor for the Mathematics Teacher and Learning and Teaching journal. She is a co-author of the Grades K-1 and Grades 4-5 books in the Classroom Ready Rich Math Tasks: Engaging Students in Doing Math series.

Karla Bandemer

Karla Bandemer works as the Grades 3-5 Math Teacher Leader for Lincoln Public Schools in Lincoln, NE. She has over 18 years of experience in education, both as an elementary classroom teacher and as a district math leader. She is a member of NCTM, NCSM, and the Nebraska Association of Teachers of Mathematics (NATM). She will serve as the president of NATM for 2025. She has served on two regional NCTM conference committees and serves as a Department Editor for NCTM’s journal Mathematics Teacher: Learning & Teaching PK-12 (MTLT). She co-authored the 2008 article “Revising Planning: Questioning with a Purpose” published in NCTM’s Teaching Children Mathematics and the 2025 article, “Put the Belonging Back in Which One Doesn’t Belong,” published in MTLT. She also authored the 2023 article “What Did I Really Mean?” published in MTLT. Karla earned her Master of Historical Studies degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2011. In 2016, she earned her Master of Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education degree through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Math in the Middle program.
